Teoma, owned by Ask Jeeves, was originally implemented to provide search technologies, but went live as a search engine in 2002. Teoma?s subject-specific popularity enhances relevancy as it ranks a site according to the number of same-subject pages that reference it, rather than its general popularity. Searches performed on Teoma receive listings in three different categories ? Results are the relevant Web pages, Refine suggests ways to narrow the search and Resources include links to experts of the search topic. The Teoma Search Bar allows users to search the Web from anywhere, perform a look-up in the dictionary, highlight search terms and email a Web page to a friend.
